Health, Education & Community Radio
Primary healthcare, adolescent and child education, and two community radio stations that keep isolated coastal people informed.
COAST runs primary healthcare from its own resources in remote upazilas of Cox's Bazar, Bhola and Patuakhali: ante- and post-natal care, counselling, basic treatment and medicines at cost, delivered by locally trained paramedics and birth attendants.
COAST supports community schools until communities or government take them over, runs adolescent programmes with PKSF, and education projects for Rohingya children with UNICEF.
Its two community radio stations, Radio Meghna (FM 99.0) in Bhola and Radio Saikat in Cox's Bazar, broadcast local news, early warnings and public service announcements during disasters.
