Climate Justice & Advocacy
Campaigning at local, national and international level for climate finance, tax and debt justice, and a fair deal for coastal people, through the EquityBD platform.
COAST takes the reality of the coast to policymakers. With EquityBD (Equity and Justice Working Group) it campaigns on climate justice, tax justice, inequality, aid and development effectiveness, and civil society as a third sector.
Recent demands include allocating 3% of GDP as climate finance to protect coastal areas, a climate adaptation plan for water management, fishermen's human rights in global climate negotiations, cancellation of illegitimate debts, and returning laundered money to achieve the SDGs. COAST brings these messages to the UNFCCC climate conferences, the WTO public forum and national budget debates.
